During their marriage of 16 years, they had three children. Their eldest child, a son, Javier, was born in 1990, followed by their second son, Miguel, in 1993. Their youngest child is a daughter named Carmen, born in 1995.

After their divorce, her husband dated a few other women, while Carmen does not have any records of dating anybody else after the marriage.

Seve was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in October 2008. He underwent multiple treatments and surgeries to cure the tumor, which was classified as cancerous. After the diagnosis of the tumor, Seve survived for two years before kicking the bucket at the age of 54 on 7 May 2011.
