Chadwick Boseman was more than an actor for the masses. He symbolized something powerful and was a ray of hope for a whole community, a whole generation. The film “Black Panther” and Boseman are a symbol of power for the black community and many Marvel fans. Chadwick Boseman was an American actor/producer who had portrayed many historical personalities like Jackie Robinson, James Brown, and Thurgood Marshall in films like “42”, “Get on Up” and “Marshall” respectively. For his magnificent performance as Black Panther in the various MCU films, he won various awards including a Screen Actors Guild Award and an NAACP Image Award. 

He co-produced and acted in “21 Bridges” in 2019. The last film he acted in is “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”. This film is set to release on Netflix posthumously. 

He hero onscreen and died like one. For four years, he battled with colon cancer without letting anyone know. When he was losing weight, fans thought it was for a role but little did they know what this great actor was going through. He passed away on August 28, 2020.

EARLY LIFE

Chadwick Boseman’s full name is Chadwick Aaron Boseman. He was born to Carolyn Boesman and Leroy Boseman on November 29, 1976, in Anderson which is in South Carolina. Her mother was a nurse by profession and Leroy used to handle upholstery business and had a job in the textile industry. 

Chadwick Boseman completed his highschool from T.L. Hanna High School in 2995. His first play named “Crossroads” was staged in his junior year after one of his classmates was shot and killed. 

He graduated with a Bachelor in Directing from Howard University and has also studied acting in Digital Film Academy. He moved to LA in 2008 to pursue his career as an actor. Before that, Chadwick Boseman worked as a drama instructor in Schomburg Junior Scholars Program.

Chadwick Boseman made his first appearance on TV in 2003. He appeared in an episode of “Third Watch“. Boseman was fired from “All My Children” after he had concerns about racist stereotypes in the show. He also made appearances in “Law & Order” and “ER”. 

He appeared as “Nate” in 9 episodes of “Lincoln Heights” from 2008 to 2009.

He played the role of Back Panther in the film “Captain America: Civil War”. The film was the first of the five-picture deal Chadwick Boseman had signed with Marvel.

“Black Panther” was released in 2018 and it revolved around Baseman’s character T’Challa and his country of Wakanda. DEATH

Fans had shown concern after Boseman uploaded a video on Instagram where he looked super skinny. Chadwick Boseman, however, never spoke about his cancer diagnosis publicly. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 which becomes his slow poison to death. The cancer was in stage III and it reached stage IV before 2020 that nobody can stop him from death. He worked on several films like “Marshall”, “Da 5 Blood” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” when he was going through treatment. The treatment involved chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. 

 

PERSONAL LIFE

Chadwick Boseman kept his personal life private. His family later revealed that he married Taylor Simone Leeward in October 2019. They started dating in 2015. 

He was raised a Christian and was involved in a church choir. He prayed to god for the role in the “Black Panther” film.
