Early Life

 

Jason Isaacs’ full name is Jason Michael Isaacs. He was born to parents Sheila and Eric Isaacs on June 6, 1963, in Liverpool. He has three siblings, two elder brothers, and a younger brother. His father, Eric, was a jeweler. He grew up in Childwall as a child. Jason’s parents were Jewish. He studied in The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School at the age of 11. He used to get bullied as a kid. According to him, it helped him prepare for playing the roles of villains. He and his family had to go through antisemitism, which led to them moving to Israel.

Isaac went to Bristol University and studied law from 1982 to 1985. He went to the Central School of Speech and Drama to train after graduating. He went there from 1985 to 1988.

 

Career

 

Jason Isaacs started his career as an actor in 1988 with the TV series titled “This Is David Lander,” in which he played the role of a French doctor in one episode. The following year, he appeared in two episodes of “A Quiet Conspiracy” as Jean-Marc Summary. From 1989 to 1990, Jason appeared in 24 episodes of “Capital City” as the characters named Chas Ewell. He appeared in three episodes of “Ashenden” as Andrew Lehman in 1991. The following year, he appeared in 4 TV shows.

He acted as Doctor McManus in an episode of “The Bill,” as Eric and John Barr in an episode of “Taggart,” as Dr. Desmond in “Inspector Morse” and in the role of Frank Dillon in  “Civvies.” He played the part of Father Luca Tonarini in two episodes of “The Last Don II” in 1998. In 2004, he played Colin Ayres in 3 episodes of “The West Wing.” From 2005 to 2006, he was responsible for voicing the character of Admiral Zhao in “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” In 2006, he portrayed Sir Mark Brydon in the miniseries titled “The State Within.” For it, he got nominated for a Golden Globe Award. From 2006 to 2008, he played the role of Michael Caffee in “Brotherhood.”

In 2008, Jason Isaacs acted as a character named Harry H. Corbett. I’m “The Curse of Steptoe.” Jason played the role of Jackson Brodie in the crime drama series titled “Case Histories” from 2011 to 2013. The following year, Jason Isaacs acted in the role of James Wolfe in the romance film titled “Battle of the Brave.” He reprised his role as Lucius Malfoy for “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” in 2005, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” in 2007, and Part 1 and 2 of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” in 2010 and 201q respectively. He voiced Ra’s al Ghul in “Batman: Under the Red Hood” in 2010. The following year, he was the voice behind Sinestro in “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.”

In the 2015 animated superhero animated film titled “Justice League: Gods and Monsters,” Jason voiced Lex Luthor and Metron. In 2020, he voiced Superman in “Superman: Red Son” and Dick Dastardly in “Scoob!”.

Isaacs and Emma Hewitt started living together in 1987, and they got married in 2001. They have two daughters together. Their daughters are named Ruby and Lily.
