Mary-Louise Parker was born on 2nd August of 1964 in the Fort Jackson of South Carolina, in the United States. She is the youngest daughter of John Morgan Parker and Caroline Louise Parker. Her father used to serve in the U.S. Army; thus, she moved to different places during childhood. She stayed in France, Germany, Thailand, Texas, and Tennessee while growing up. She has 3 other siblings who are older than her.

Parker attended Marcos de Niza High School and later graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 1986. Despite being raised in a wealthy family, Parker expressed about being an unhappy child.

Theatre:

Mary-Louise Parker started off her career off-Broadway play The Art of Success in 1989 but earned fame in the following year from the Broadway play called Prelude to a Kiss. The play was performed in Helen Hayes Theatre, and it gained her Theatre World Awards, additionally Tony Awards and Drama Desk Awards nomination in 1990. She then appeared in the on and off-Broadway plays, including Four Dogs and a Bone, Bus Stop, How I Learned to Drive, making her next breakthrough in 2000 from the play Proof as Catherine Llewellyn. She earned 2 Drama Desk Awards, Outer Critics Circle Awards, and her first Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Play in 2001.

Parker further received a Tony Awards nomination in 2005 after her role in Reckless as Rachel Fitzsimons. She then performed in Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Hedda Gabler, Heisenberg, The Sound Inside, which was performed in 2018 till 2020. She received Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Play in 2020.

Mary-Louise Parker made her film debut in1989 from the film Signs of Life, where Charlotte made her appearance. She landed her first major role in 1991 in the film Grand Canyon where she appeared as Rita. The following year, she received a Genie Awards nomination after her performance in the Canadian drama film, The Five Senses. Since then, she has appeared in numerous films, among which few of them are Red Dragon, Pipe Dragon, Solitary Man, Howl, Red, Red 2, Behaving Badly, Golden Exits, red Sparrow, and so on.

Mary-Louise Parker received wider success in the television sector than in films. Mary-Louise Parker never got married in her life, but she has a son named William Atticus Crudup, whom she gave birth to in 2003 from her first known boyfriend, Billy Crudup- an American actor. They were in a relationship starting 1996, and it ended 2 months before giving birth to their son William, named by actress Susan Sarandon. After breaking up with Crudup, she next dated actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

They started their relationship at the end of 2006 and declared they were about to get engaged in February of 2008. Their relationship, as well as engagement, broke in April the same year. Since then, she hasn’t been in a rumor with anyone, so she is believed to be single. She has a daughter named Caroline Aberash Parker, whom she adopted in 2007.
