She has her last name from her mother’s side because of “Koseki.” Koseki refers to the Japanese Family Registration Law. 

But Naomi grew up in the US since the age of three. She started training at an early age. Naomi seems to be inspired by his elder sister Mari. She is also a professional tennis player. The family shifted to Valley Stream, New York, to live with the parents of her father. Naomi’s father played a significant role in the life of his daughters to indulge in Tennis.

Naomi Osaka’s father, Leonard, got the inspiration to teach Tennis to his daughters after watching a game of William Sisters. They were competing in “1999 French 0pen.” Leonard was himself a less experienced tennis player. But he got inspiration from Richard Williams. He was not a player, but he trained his daughters to become the best player. 

He followed the blueprint of how Richard trained his daughters. And he taught Naomi and Mari. 



There are not many details about the academic schooling of Naomi. 

Naomi’s family shifted to Florida to find a better opportunity to train Naomi in 2006. She used to practice in Pembroke Pines public courts. She collaborated with Patrick Trauma at the ISP Academy when she was 15. Naomi joined Harold Solomon Tennis Academy in 2014. Likewise, she also received her training at ProWorld Tennis Academy.
